    The brake pads, rear drums/rotors had to be replaced on a toyota certified used vehicle. The repair person inquired as to whether i was driving the vehicle with the emergency brake on because the rotors/drums were" melted." when the brake pedal is applied, there is a very loud groaning noise.*ak

    Brake pads are wearing out prematurely. When brake pedal is applied the brakes make a loud vibrating noise with poor stooping effect. Most of my driving is highway yet the brake wear out as if i apply them constantly.     Since car was purchased the brake pedal on many occasions has dropped to the floor pan fo no appearant reason. This problem occurs at both highway speed and in-city speeds. I have to pump the pedal a few times for it to maintain brake pressure. If i keep my foot on the pedal long enough it eventually drops. *ak
