This is an ongoing problem. Whenever i hit a pothole or a bump and i hit my brakes to slow down, the car makes this really loud grinding sound and the car does not stop at all and keeps accelerating. The only way i can get the brakes to engaged is by taking my foot off the brake completely and stepping on it again. *tr

My 2002 toyota camry failed to stop at an intersection in san antonio, texas not far from my home. It surged forward and plowed into the car infront of me smashing the front of the toyota but barely scratching the other car's rear bumper. This happened at 4:45 p.m on january 14, 2010 at the intersection of hwy 1604 and hwy 10. I know i was pressing the brakes when this happened. I will be in komaki, japan until july…

When i drive over rough road or a grate, my vehicle appears to not stop immediately. It seems to accelerate instead. It is very scary when there is a vehicle in front of you and you don't know whether your vehicle will stop. I drive very slow when i see rough road or a grate. I do not feel safe in this vehicle. *tr

My 2002 camry began "lurching" approx. 2 years ago. We have taken it for service 5 times, to no avail. We replaced spark plugs, a sensor and were told by one dealer that it was jumping from cylinder to cylinder, but they could not find the source of the problem. Two other visits to 2 separate dealers were unsuccessful in experiencing the problem during test drives. They even had a regional manager come and check it…

2002 camry le was parked in large mall parking lot. When started and put into drive, car began to accelerate as i pressed the accelerator pedal. As i applied the brake, the car continued rapidly accelerating by itself even though my foot was off the pedal. Brakes did not function at all; car continued to increase speed. I downshifted to neutral and car suddenly stopped with a jolt. I drove the car to local toyota…

My 2002 camry, purchased new, did not stop when i applied the brakes while riding over road bumps and engaging the antilock brakes. I had a dealer check for proper antilock brake function in 2002 and was told they could not find a problem. This condition is similar to that described for the toyota prius. *tr

I crashed into the car in front of me smashing badly the front of my car but barely scratching the other car's rear bumper. The other party didn't…
