My 2000 camry is also in need of a replacement charcoal canister for the emissions system. My check engine light has been on for about 6 years because of it. I do not wish to pay the $400 to have it replaced when the car is running just fine. This has been an issue with a large number of early 2000's camrys. *tr

I have a 2001 toyota camry where the gas pedal sticks at times. Not all the time. Is there a problem with this year/model vehicle. I have had it at my local mechanic where he lubricated the cable. I have a "1999" toyota camry that on the way to work yesterday had the engine begin racing and the brakes were barely able to stop it. After performing a gas pedal reoperation on a 2009 toyota camry there was a constant clicking noise and a feeling detent when pressing on the accelerator after a stop. The dealer agreed with the problem and replaced the gas pedal with a new one. The new pedal is a improvement but the clicking is still coming from, i believe, the spring inside the accelerator pedal housing. The dealer said he could not do anything…

I have a 2002 toyota camry. Upon pulling into a parking stall i applied the brakes to slow down as normally done when parking. At this time the car lurched forward, the engine raced, the car hopped the curb and hit a building. I believe this could be tied to the current gas pedal recall.
